Transitional Care Unit
The perfect place for you to recover until you are well enough to return home.
Following treatment in an acute hospital it is often necessary for older patients to spend a further period recovering, particularly following surgery, major illnesses and accidents. When this recovery period requires ongoing medical monitoring, rehabilitation or re-enablement, Mount Carmel Community Hospital is there to help patients with their expressed desire to make a speedy recover and return home.
Our bedrooms are located on the ground and first floor. We have a dedicated care team working diligently to ensure all our patients are happy and comfortable during their stay with us.

Nutrition and Dietary Health
With diet forming an essential element of the recovery process our dedicated on site chef provides menus customised to our patients’ dietary needs.
We only use the finest, fresh ingredients and all meals are nutritionally balanced and freshly prepared daily.
Patients are consulted on a regular basis with regard to fresh additions to the menu. Patients’ choice guides everything we do.
We regularly host special afternoon tea parties for patients and families. Every birthday is celebrated with fresh cake.
