Set in the grounds of the old Carmelite College in the beautiful town of Moate, our purpose built Nursing Home and Convalescent Centre provides a high standard of care 24 hours a day. We respect our residents’ rights to self-determination, individuality and privacy and our care teams ensure that those rights are protected and they are ready to assist residents in meeting their personal needs.
Our residents can pursue their hobbies in our communal and quiet lounges. They watch television or perhaps listen to music or have some reading time. They also enjoy our landscaped garden with sun. All of these areas are used for relaxing, socialising and are great places to invite friends and families when they visit.
Supporting the Director of Nursing each home has a dedicated team of staff nurses, senior healthcare assistants, healthcare assistants, activity coordinator, social care practitioner, allied healthcare professionals and ancillary staff, who’s focus is to enhance the lives of the elderly residents in their care.

Respite Care
Some of our residents are with us for short-term respite care after acute medical care in a hospital, where they are ready to be discharged, but are not quite well enough to manage at home on their own yet. We offer skilled, individualised rehabilitation care, nursing and associated therapies.

Nursing Home Care
Our long term residents make Moate their new home-from-home when they are no longer able to live alone, either through illness or disability. We offer best-practice medical, nursing, rehabilitation and therapeutic services in a nurturing, safe and homely environment.

Dementia Care
Person-centred care, creating enjoyable days for residents living with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other forms of memory loss. Our care model is build around a deep understanding of each resident, and all aspects of their lives, providing a place to live with dignity, comfort and grace.
Championing Quality of Life for Our Residents
We Listen. We Care.
People First
Residents are at the centre of everything we do in Dockt Healthcare and residents and their families are at the centre of care planning. It is important to every member of our organisation that families are reassured and confident that their loved ones are receiving the very best of care. We want to help.
A Caring Culture
Led by our hearts – our team of skilled professionals, from Directors of Care, nurses and carers to catering and housekeeping are all characterised by the qualities of empathy, compassion, kindness, patience and understanding. We promote a culture of friendship and companionship in all our homes. We Listen. We Care.
Health & Wellbeing
Our care follows critical and clinical best practice, focussing on managing and improving long term medical condition, pain levels, mobility and maximising independence of our residents. We at all times respect the wishes of the person and very importantly, go at the pace our residents want to go at.
The Lived Experience
We are dedicated to involving residents in daily activities and therapies – cognitively stimulating, multi-sensory, physical therapy and social care – that help them feel valued, provide them with a sense of purpose and give them a sense of belonging. ‘Life Goes On’…with every comfort of home.
Person-Centred Healthcare
We promote choice at all times and do everything we can to enable our residents to enjoy a full life
Health & Wellbeing
Living with Purpose
We encourage our residents to engage, enjoy, express, and live as full, independent and active a life as possible with us. Our dedicated activity coordinators and social care practitioners develop an extensive weekly calendar of activities, based on residents’ expressed preferences, and tailored to individual needs.
We provide support and stimulation through a blend of activities and therapies that enrich the body, mind and spirit. On a typical week residents enjoy music, singing and dance activities, light exercise, games, gardening, excursions, beauty pampering, and social gatherings. Residents like to spend time pursuing their own individual hobbies or interests, as well as join in on group activities in our communal and quiet lounges.
Our activities programming is designed to bring together residents, staff, family and friends – and to turn each day into an opportunity for our residents to Live With Purpose.
